How did that motto go? Besties who have the same skin together stay together? Call it destiny, but Rach and I both experience an oily, combined skin and are sensitive for pimples and impurities. We went to the DM (a German drugstore) searching for beauty supplies that you can’t find in the Netherlands. We found this bottle, for just €2,55,-.
I wasn’t familiar with the brand ‘Neutrogena’, except that I’ve seen it before. Rach heard some good stories about this particular product and it was on sale, so we both decided to buy the product and review it together.
The product we bought is the Pink Grapefruit Daily Gel from the visibly clear line. The packaging says that the gel is developed by dermatologists. The product promises a fresh, radiant complexion by means of MicroClear Technology and cleans the skin without drying it. That is certainly promising! For a bottle of 200 ml you pay €2,55,-, which is a great deal. Rach and I both tested this product and here’s what we think of it:
What does Rach think about this product?
Since buying the product it has been my daily driver, and i have to say i really like it. Especially for the price this cleanser is a must have. It is not as good as my previous cleanser, which was the Glamglow supermud cleanser. That cleanser did wonders for my skin, but it is very pricy at 30 euro for something that you have to buy every month. I would rather get the Neutrogena on any day of the week. I`ve been using it for over 2 weeks now and have a lot left, i think one bottle will last you about 2 or 3 months. Have i noticed improvement? Yes a little, my skin has not gotten any worse than it was and now when i have a white head i can squeeze it without any blood coming out. It has also made my imperfections a bit smaller and my skin less glossy. I would definitely recommend this product for anybody with skin issues and would give the product a solid 7.5/10.
What does Jess think about this product?
Since I own this product, I use it almost daily. The bottle with the pump is easy to use and looks cute on my sink. The product comes easily out of the bottle and has a gel texture which I like. In combination with water the product foams a lot. What I like about this product is the scent: it smells subtle like grapefruit. The best part is that the smell lingers on your hands and face. But that’s personal I guess. I certainly enjoy it! Normally I use the 3-steps method of Clinique and I switched the first step with this Neutrogena gel. After two days my skin was a lot calmer. In this period I used a lot of sheet masks so I’m not sure if my skin improved from Neutrogena’s gel or the other skincare products. This is a really good product and I am going to buy more from this particular line. For two reasons: one, the gel is super nice and two, it costs a lot less than Clinique. If this does the same, or more for my skin than Clinique it is an easy choice. I would rate this product an 8/10 and will definitely buy this again.
